CLASSIC BLACKJACK
Classic Blackjack is played with one standard deck of 52 playing cards that is shuffled before each game.
The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going Bust.
In Classic Blackjack, you can only bet one hand at a time.
General Rules:
- Classic Blackjack is played with one standard deck of 52 playing cards that are shuffled after the completion of every game.
- Blackjack always beats any other hand with a value of 21.
- All face cards - Jacks, Kings and Queens, have a value of 10.
- Aces can have a value of either 1 or 11.
- You may draw up to nine additional cards to make a hand of eleven cards, provided the value of your hand does not exceed 21. If your hand does not exceeded 21 after receiving eleven cards, your hand automatically stands, and the Dealer plays his hand.
- The Dealer stands on a soft 17.
Betting and Payout Rules:
- If the Dealer's hand exceeds 21, it is Bust, and you automatically win.
- If you are dealt an Ace and a card with a value of 10, you have Blackjack. Your hand automatically stands. Your hand cannot be beaten, only matched. If you beat the Dealer with Blackjack you are paid out at odds of 3:2.
- If both the Dealer and you have Blackjack, this is also considered a Push. You are paid out your original bet amount.
- When your hand and the Dealer's hand tie, it is called a Push. You are paid your original bet amount.
Splitting Rules:
- You can split two cards that have the same Denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand.
- Cards of the same Value cannot be split in European Blackjack. For example, a King and a Ten have the same numerical value, but cannot be split because the cards are not the same denomination.
- If you split a pair of Aces and then draw a card with a denomination of 10, this is not Blackjack, although it has a value of 21.
- You can split Aces in European Blackjack.
- You can split a maximum of once per hand. This equals two hands.
Double Down Rules:
- You can Double Down when your hand has a value of 9, 10 or 11. You are dealt one card and your hand automatically stands.
- The Double Down bet is equal to your original bet.
- You cannot Double Down after a split.
- You can only Double Down once per hand.
Insurance Rules:
- You can take Insurance if the Dealer's first card is an Ace.
- The Insurance bet is equal to half your original bet amount.
- Insurance bet wins or loses are independent from your original bet.
- Insurance is only taken on your original hand. You cannot take Insurance after a Hit, Split, or a Double Down bet. This means you can only take Insurance when the Dealer has one card face-up and you have two cards dealt.
- If the Dealer does not have a Blackjack, the Insurance bet is removed from the table, and the cost of the Insurance bet is deducted from your credit balance. The hand continues.
- If the Dealer has Blackjack, the Insurance bet is paid out at odds of 2:1.
